Congratulations to our Top of Class 06-07

Congratulations to top of class 06/07

While we are extremely happy with all of our Juniors from the 1st Edition of the Next Generation Program here at BV McCann Erickson i have to point out and announce 3 especially great performers:

Ana Miculescu, Alex Rosca and Bogdan Sonea.

All 3 of them have convinced us with their work, learning abilities, loyalty and committment.

So i am proud to promote them prior to the usual 1 year growth time of one year to full flesh ACCOUNT EXECUTIVES.

We knew since the day of their first speed interviews that we can expect a lot from them, but they managed to keep this impression on a consistent and reliable basis. And this, while we all know just how hard it is to start your first real job as a junior in a crazy environment like an advertising agency.

Ana Miculescu, working on the Nestle account has been shining ever since she started here last year, 3 weeks prior to school starting.

She is usually the first one in, always a smile on her face and never drops anything. (not even her Nescafe mug). She is now my ideal that i’d like to get many of - while we are preparing for the Next Generation 07/08 School start.

Alex Rosca, mainly on the Kandia Excellent and Caroli accounts, has prooven his capabilities by handling complex projects from A-Z while keeping his AM informed and his creatives inspired. He is one of our first ‘men’ again in client service after a long female regime. And after we forced the poor guy at his initiation ceremony at our x-mas party to wear a silver wig and wings he admittedly now understands female target group comments. Well actually it helped all of our angels to see the benefit in making fun of themselves and also kee p ing a certain amount of light heartedness…

Bogdan Sonea, mainly on the Inbev account could be called the lucky guy. Hey he is a dude working on beer! But being thrown into one of the most competitive markets he has successfully managed to create valuable client and agency relationships. Not unlike Ana and Alex he is also very passionate about his contribution, a good listener and thorough follow upper. Let’s see whether he can get the client to provide us with brew for the planned Thursday happy hours…

Stay tuned to hear more about our successes.

Footnote to all headhunters and other agency HR departments: Do not waste your phone minutes! These guys are not only top in Client Management for their level but they also understand the relevance of loyalty and what it means to work at McCann: a long term growth perspective, great climate and being part of The Best:)

Short for expat post explanation

from Daniela Knecht

Ok - i received feedback that my post was understood as one of these enthusiastic about Romania statements. Da - that is part of it. But - based on my good education - i left out the trigger for my mind blurb.

So here is the reveal:

Last Thursday i was at my first IAA meeting. This was a rather big deal because we members were voting for the new board. And even though we are talking about the INTERNATIONAL ADVERTISING ASSOCIATION a few minutes into the introductions of the procedure a tall man in a grey (oops gray) suit made it clear, that you have to be a master of the Romanian language in order to be part of the discussion. Well at least my Romanian was good enough to understand that much. So I spent 3 hours next to an open minded friend translating the gist of things.

After the meeting I asked the tall grey man WHY? And guess what i heard - in English this time - that Romania had been overloaded with expats that came here with other agendas then supporting the Romanian market. So I simply wanted to state, that even though i do not - yet at least- master the Romanian language - i do intend to be a part of the Romanian advertising market with all the best intentions.

Now the question remains: what is the international language of advertising? What ever the answer might be, I will learn Romanian - but write my posts in English. Or should I switch to German?…

no more expats

from Daniela Knecht

Ok - I am American - BUT by birth I am German.

What does that mean? Well since January 2007 Romania is part of the European Union. And I am working here as a European. I am not here to gain experience and then move on to my next assignment. I have experience and am here to stay. And I am committed to this post. I love the people here at McCann first and foremost. Because they are the heart and blood of the agency and have amazing talent. And passion has no borders.

So while I am still rolling my sleeves and learn, learn, learn - about the country, the market and the mentality - I want you to see that this here for me is not just a stunt.

This is the way I want everyone to see their future at McCann - famous and fortunate.

Your INpat :)))
